
Brandon “Griot B” Brown, BMI recording artist, educator, curator, and founder of School Yard Rap will headline a special Juneteenth celebration for Los Angeles-area youth and families on Friday, June 19, 2026, featuring his groundbreaking fusion of music, education, and cultural storytelling.
With upcoming performances including NPR’s 2026 Tiny Desk Contest “On The Road” Tour stop at Bimbo’s 365 Club in San Francisco on June 12, Griot B is bringing his growing national platform home for a major Juneteenth and Black Music Month celebration in Culver City focused on youth empowerment, culture, and community impact.A former public school teacher in Inglewood, California, Brown has reached more than 1 million students across 228 school districts in 24 states through School Yard Rap, his nationally recognized educational platform that uses hip-hop to teach history, identity, literacy, and leadership.
WHAT: This Juneteenth Celebration with Griot B is a free, family-friendly concert andcelebration of Black excellence featuring live performances, youth-centered programming, red carpet arrivals, celebrity family engagement opportunities, and charitable community activations.
The evening will also include: Celebrity and influencer family participation, Community partnership activation with local nonprofits, including grocery and diaper distribution benefiting LA-area families
